Domus Magazine 1102, 09 June 2025

“Christian Wassmann has embraced a leftover glacial boulder with the lightness and warmth of his wooden family home.” -Bjarke Ingels

The June issue of Domus, curated by Bjarke Ingels, focuses on wood as a key material for the architecture of the future. It also features a reflection on the Venice Biennale curated by Carlo Ratti and thoughts on nature, technology, and new ways of living. Christian Wassmann, in “La casa intorno alla roccia” (The House Around the Rock), presents the Rock'n'House, a habitable observatory integrated with its natural context. The intrinsic relationship between nature and wood is elevated to an art form and a philosophical reflection.

“The houses published here represent an increasing awareness not only of the beauty of nature, but also of the need to preserve and protect such beauty.” -Philip Jodidio
